As you know, Class Comics will be in attendance at this year’s BENT-CON (December 3-4th at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, California) in the form of Patrick Fillion and Robert Fraser. This year’s BENT-CON is shaping up to be bigger and better than the last!
BENT-CON is the convention for encouraging, celebrating and appreciating LGBT and LGBT-friendly comic-book artists, writers, creators, publishers, directors and producers, creating media targeted directly to LGBT audiences or as part of the larger realm of mainstream pop-culture as a whole.
We’ve got some new details for you regarding Patrick and Fraser’s schedules. Here are a few updates:
Patrick and Fraser will be on site ready to sign comics, meet the fans and discuss all things Class-Comics related. The Class Comics booth is gonna ROCK and you’ll be able to pick up a TON of awesome freebies and goodies.
Also, exclusive to BENT-CON, two previously UNRELEASED Class Comics titles will be there for attendees to purchase. These 2 mystery titles are being made WAY AHEAD OF their scheduled 2012 release, so be among the first fans to get your hands on them.
Are you an artist? Are you a colorist? Patrick and Fraser will happily review your portfolio and provide helpful tips. The boys are always keeping an eye out for new talent to publish and hire for the Class Comics universe, so come on down and put your best foot forward. This is a rare opportunity to possibly get your foot in the door and to meet two industry professionals with years of experience.
FYI, we’re currently on the lookout for an artist for a key Class Comics project, so if you’re looking to get into the business, come show us your stuff.
Please note: In order to give everyone a fair chance to have Patrick and Fraser review their work, there is a limit of 10 minutes per Portfolio Review.
We now have a revised list of the panels that both Patrick and Fraser will be participating in.
Saturday December 3rd, 2011, 2 PM in the Mordor Room, DRAWN THIS WAY: Gay Erotic Comics – Patrick will be speaking as part of the panel.
Sunday December 4th, 2011, 10 AM in the Shire Room, PUBLISHING QUEER: Making LGBT Graphic Novels and Comics – Fraser will be speaking as part of the panel.
Sunday December 4th, 2011, 11 AM in the Mordor Room, SKINJOBS: Nudity, Sexuality, Storytelling and Art - Patrick will be speaking as part of the panel.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear Patrick and Fraser’s views on the world of Erotic Comics. Bring your questions and comments. The boys are looking forward to hearing from you.
Fanboys of the Universe will be sponsoring the Costume Catwalk at BENT-CON (Saturday, December 3, 6:00PM in the Mordor Room) and Patrick will be one of the official judges along with Zan Christensen (Northwest Press) and Johnny M (Fanboys of the Universe). Brian Andersen (So Super Duper, Friend of Dorothy) will be steering the show.
We know what you Class Comics Fans are capable of! We’ve seen a ton of you dressed up over the years as your favorite Class Comics characters, and we’re inviting you to go ALL OUT for this contest! Come as Ghostboy, come as Zahn, come as Locus… Heck, come as any character from pop culture you like, it doesn’t have to be someone from the Class Universe. LOL! If you’re planning on attending Bent-Con, you simply MUST enter the contest.
There’s gonna be some awesome prizes which are gonna be announced this week on the Fanboys of the Universe site! And just remember, BENT-CON is OUR con. It’s where LGBTQ fans and creators can let their hair down and celebrate what makes us unique… so come enjoy yourselves!
