With the new year just around the corner, we’re hard at work (yes, pun intended! LOL!) on some amazing new comics.  2012 is going to be one HECK of a year, and one of the most anticipated Class Comics titles to date, MAKO FINN #1, will be among the new releases!

Written by Patrick Fillion and illustrated by Jacob Mott, MAKO FINN #1 finally brings us Class Comics’ resident Eco-Warrior in his first, exciting adventure.  Mako and his sexy team of fellow marine biologists will face  the vicious PIRANHA, a brutal new villain who has unleashed a horrible and ancient threat against the oceans of the world. It’s gonna be a race against time to save the world from this new menace, but Mako’s been eager to swim into action since he was first briefly introduced in Boytoon Adventures #1.

With GHOSTBOY AND DIABLO #1 just around the corner, the time has come to introduce the terrible TORO, the series’ big baddie!

Just who exactly is Toro? Well, without giving too much of the issue’s plot away, we can tell you this: Toro is Ghostboy’s uncle and while he’s not exactly evil, he’s a total freakin’ nutjob! And here’s something else you should know… Toro is NOT to be trifled with! While he may not be “evil” in the strictest sense, he’s quick to anger and very unpredictable. This guy will cut a bitch!

Toro is totally vain, self absorbed, single minded and completely selfish. He really couldn’t give a damn about anyone else and as long as he gets what he wants, he’s a happy camper. And there’s something he wants DESPERATELY!  Unfortunately what he’s after lands Ghostboy and Diablo in the middle of some very deep shit! As if our boys didn’t already have enough crap to deal with.

While Toro chooses to make his entrance when it suits him, which in this case is toward the end of the first issue, we guarantee it’s quite an entrance. The man has flare, that’s for sure. Sadly he may also be a couple sandwiches short of his picnic, but then, all the best villains are.

This morning I finished up the official RAPTURE #4 front cover, and I just HAD to share it with you!

I love this cover! I had such a great time drawing it because it’s based upon a scene that the always-amazing LOGAN drew for “The Altar of Zsabarnak”, the Zahn mini story that appears in the book. When I saw Logan’s incredible art for this story, it blew my mind. It’s really fantastic stuff!

In fact, Logan’s work on “The Altar of Zsabarnak”  blew me away so much that I was inspired to pay homage to his great artwork by interpreting a scene for the cover in my own art style.

Hernán Cabrera’s beautiful colors really make my illustration pop, and I think that overall it makes for a crazy sexy and eye catching cover.

You know, one of the reasons that Rapture is one of my favorite series is that it always gives me the opportunity to work with other artists.  In Rapture #4 I wrote stories for Logan and for Soto (Soto draws a brand new Deimos story), and I personally guarantee that, in all likelihood, this is the best Rapture to date! LOL!

Logan draws Zahn for the first time in the RAPTURE #4 story called "The Altar of Zsabarnak". RAPTURE #4 coming Fall 2011 from Class Comics.

It’s been nearly two years since the release of Camili-Cat: Felinoids #3 and fans have been hungering for the return of their favorite Felinoid stud. Sure our boy popped up in Locus #1, but that was just a cameo.

Now he’s jumping back into the spotlight with a brand new mini story appearing in the forthcoming Rapture #4.  The story entitled “Changes” will also be released as the first ever Class Comics mini digital comic, several months prior to the release of Rapture #4.

Patrick Fillion who wrote and drew “Changes” gives us a little insight on Cam’s return and his updated appearance.

“After 25 years of drawing Cam, I kinda wanted to give him a major revamp. So in “Changes” he gets a pretty shocking new look, and he’s going to be affected by it both physically and mentally.  It’s pretty exciting!”

Patrick goes on to reveal that the story begins with Cam trying to track down Locus, who recently left Cam to flee from the Sektan Authorities.  This leads Cam to Sekta Prime and to meeting Locus’ nasty enemy, Doctor Pupae.

“Cam has no idea what he’s getting into.  He doesn’t want to let Locus face the Sektans alone, but he starts to doubt that his lover is actually still alive when he meets Pupae.  Pupae’s pretty twisted and to him, males make great toys to experiment on. He gives Cam a total DNA redesign and the results are pretty hot!  LOL!”

“Cam’s fans will either love this change, or they’re gonna hate it… and ME for changing him. But you know what, after a little while, even comic book characters can get tired of looking the same way.  Cam had the same look since 1999, and that’s a pretty long time to sport the same floppy hairdo! I started to feel like he was getting a little stale. It really was time for a few changes!”
